Garrett will give remarks at Women's Commission event

Takeelia Garrett, student ombuds, will be the keynote speaker at the Women's Commission Fall Welcome.
The event is set for Wednesday, September 26, from noon-1:30 p.m. in the L. William Seidman Center, Seidman Forum, on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus. Light refreshments will be served; faculty and staff members can RSVP for the event online at gvsu.edu/wcommission.
Garrett was named Grand Valley's first student ombuds in 2015, she had worked for Housing and Residential Life.
The Women's Commission is the university's longest established affinity group for faculty and staff members. Commission members will give a preview of upcoming events at the event.
