All student employee positions within Housing and Residence Life include the benefit of provided on-campus housing for Summer 2026. Student employees may reside on campus at no personal expense for the duration of their employment.

Some things to keep in mind:

• Some positions require students to reside in on-campus housing.
• This may be considered taxable income.
• There are limitations to the options/styles covered:
  • Employees residing on the Valley Campus (Allendale) are provided a south campus 4-bedroom apartment option.
  • Employees residing on the City Campus (Grand Rapids) will only be provided a Winter Hall 2-person efficiency option.
  • If the employee wishes to select a different style, they will have to pay the difference in rate/cost.
• Housing Contract Dates
  • Students already living on campus for the Winter 2026 term will move to their Summer 2026 housing assignment following normal end-of-year transition instructions.
  • Students who are moving on to campus for the Summer 2026 term can begin moving in on Saturday, May 9, 2026 (start of contract).
  • The end of the Summer 2026 contract for Housing & Residence Life student employees is Saturday, August 15.
    • Students continuing to live on campus for the Fall 2026 term will move following normal end-of-summer transition instructions.
    • Students moving off campus at the end of summer must be moved out by Saturday, August 15.
• In positions where living on campus is not required, students who choose to live off campus for the Summer terms are not provided additional compensation in exchange for not living on campus.
