America on the Road to Defeat: An Election Without Foreign Policy

America on the Road to Defeat: An Election Without Foreign Policy

June 25, 2008

Michael Scheuer, former head of the CIA’s Bin Laden Unit and author of three New York Times bestselling books, talked about the ten foreign policy questions that John McCain and Barack Obama must answer.

In this video, Elaine Didier welcomed a capacity audience to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids Michigan. Gleaves Whitney, director of the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies at Grand Valley State University, introduced the topic of the evening and the speaker. He made the point that Scheuer, an adjunct professor of security studies at Georgetown University, is eminently qualified to discuss American national security, foreign policy, and the 2008 presidential election.

Scheuer has written three books, including “Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror”; “Through Our Enemies’ Eyes: Osama bin Laden, Radical Islam, and the Future of America”; and “Marching Toward Hell: America and Islam After Iraq.”
