Gov. appoints community leader and state administrator to Grand Valley board

Gov. Rick Snyder announced the appointment of Sue Jandernoa and Elizabeth (Beth) Emmitt to the Grand Valley State University Board of Trustees. The eight-year terms begin January 1, 2019.

Fall Arts Celebration lecture to explore creative economy's impact on art

Individuals of all skill levels and in various industries can access tools and apps that allow them to draw, take pictures and capture movies, and share that content around the world as a means of communication or to make money.  Award-winning essayist, critic and best-selling author William Deresiewicz will address how the definition of an artist is changing with technology during an upcoming Fall Arts Celebration event.

GVSU named Best in Region, Best Value, Most Innovative by U.S. News

Grand Valley State University has once again been named a top university in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report.  In the "2019 Best Colleges rankings" Grand Valley ranked 1st among Michigan's public universities and 3rd overall in the category for "Top Public Regional Universities in the Midwest."

GVSU enrollment shows increase in first-year students, diversity

Grand Valley State University welcomed one of its largest first-year classes in its history. The university has enrolled more than 4,000 first-year students for the seventh year in a row, and they are coming in with stellar academic records and taking more classes. This is one of the highest freshman enrollments in Michigan, which is seeing a decline in the number of high school graduates.
