Samantha Fuentes, a survivor of the 2018 shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, will participate in an event sponsored by the Educational Foundations Department in the College of Education.

Biology grad student wins thesis competition

Sarah Lamar, who is earning a master's degree in biology, won first place with her research, "Biological Invasions on a Large Scale: Investigating the Spread of Baby's Breath (Gypsophila paniculata) Across North America." Lamar won $500 and will represent Grand Valley at the Midwest Association of Graduate Schools 3MT® competition in St. Louis, Missouri, March 22.
