GVSU named Best in Region, Best Value, Most Innovative by U.S. News
Grand Valley State University has once again been named a top university in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report. In the "2019 Best Colleges rankings" Grand Valley ranked 1st among Michigan's public universities and 3rd overall in the category for "Top Public Regional Universities in the Midwest."

GVSU enrollment shows increase in first-year students, diversity
Grand Valley State University welcomed one of its largest first-year classes in its history. The university has enrolled more than 4,000 first-year students for the seventh year in a row, and they are coming in with stellar academic records and taking more classes. This is one of the highest freshman enrollments in Michigan, which is seeing a decline in the number of high school graduates.

Grand Valley has been named one of America's Top Colleges for 2018 by Forbes. Rankings focused on the direct benefits schools provide their graduates. Forbes considered debt after graduation, retention and graduation rates, alumni salaries, and signs of individual success including academic and career accolades.

New Music Ensemble supports National Parks System through performances
The student members of Grand Valley's award-winning New Music Ensemble recently travelled 5,000 miles over the course of 17 days to perform at some of the most famous national parks in the U.S. For the tour, the ensemble commissioned five composers to write original compositions inspired by Voyageurs, Glacier, North Cascades, Olympic, and Mount Rainier national parks.
