Student Life

A critical component of a truly impactful graduate experience is getting involved in student life outside of the classroom. The following are just a few ways to get engaged in your program.

Graduate Student Association

The Graduate Student Association (GSA) plans and coordinates activities throughout the year aimed at building graduate student culture at Grand Valley, and helping students build professional networks across all disciplines. Check their website for a full list of events and ways to get involved

Student Organizations

There are over 30 graduate student organizations on campus, which seek to provide personal and professional development opportunities for students in a specific topic area. Find out if your graduate program has a student organization by asking your advisor, searching LakerLink, or reviewing your graduate program's webpage.

GVSU Campus Events

As a graduate student, you are invited to attend all campus-wide events for the general student body as well. GVSU has an extensive student life program, and we encourage students to take advantage of the many events they plan. From traveling museum exhibits to sporting events to free movies, there is something for everyone at GVSU. See a full list of campus events.
