Jazmin joined The Graduate School in August 2023 as the Graduate Resources and Marketing Graduate Assistant. She is responsible for coordinating The Graduate School’s social media, the 6 in 60 Newsletter, graduate student success stories, and other marketing projects. Jazmin also supports the management of events such as the Graduate Showcase and the 3-Minute Thesis Competition. Her favorite part is creating pretty flyers for everyone to see.

Jazmin graduated from the first public HBCU in Georgia, Savannah State University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Journalism. Here at GVSU, she is currently in the Communications graduate program. After graduation, she aspires to work in athletic communications on the collegiate or professional level.

In her free time, Jazmin enjoys attending festivals, cooking, sleeping, and shopping whether it’s online or in-store. She is also a part of the HBCU/HSI Pipeline Consortium, so she hangs out with her cohort on the weekends discovering new places around Grand Rapids. Jazmin also cannot wait for the snow, as this is her first “real” winter.
