There are prerequisites to the Clinical Dietetics M.S. program that MUST be met before applying. Please review before applying to ensure that you meet the requirements.

CD 510 - Nutritional Assessment: 3 credits

CD 516 - Food and Culinary Science: 4 credits

CD 520 - Supervised Practice: Food Management Systems: 3 credits (180 hours)

CD 530 - Supervised Practice: Community Nutrition I: 3 credits (180 hrs)

CD 560 - Advanced Nutrition Education, Counseling, and Coaching: 2 credits

CD 600 - Advanced Medical Nutritional Therapy I: 3 credits

CD 690 - Research Methodology in Clinical Dietetics: 1 credit

STA 610 - Applied Statistics for Health Professions: 3 credits

CD 550 - Food, Culture, and the Health Environment: 2 credits

CD 610 - Advanced Medical Nutritional Therapy II: 3 credits

CD 625 - Supervised Practice: Clinical Nutrition I: 5 credits (300 hours)

CD 630 - Supervised Practice: Community Nutrition II: 2 credits (120 hours; 60 hours may be taken internationally)

CD 693 - Master's Project Course: 1-3 credits OR CD 695 - Thesis Research in Clinical Dietetics: 1-6 credits

CD 505 - Health Care Regulation and Policy in Dietetic Practice: 2 credits

CD 640 - Supervised Practice: Clinical Nutrition II: 5 credits (300 hours)

CD 650 - Supervised Practice: Area of Specialization: 2 credits (120 hours; optional international rotation)

CD 689 - Seminar in Clinical Dietetics: 1 credit

CD 693 - Master's Project Course: 1-3 credits OR CD 695 - Thesis Research in Clinical Dietetics: 1-6 credits

1,200 hours, including 180 optional international hours

Variable credits (420 hours supervised practice)

 

Study Abroad

Students in Track A are encouraged to consider doing an international rotation to fulfill a portion of the supervised practice requirements. Learn more about the Clinical Dietetics Study Abroad opportunities here.

Please Note the Following:

  • In-seat is a minimum of two times per course.
  • There are required Saturday labs.
  • Average driving time to supervised practice sites is about an hour and a half.
  • Housing stay for any part of the program, including supervised practice, is the responsibility of the student.
