With more than a decade of experience at Grand Valley, Jason
Cronkrite began a new role in early March as the executive associate
for the Division of Enrollment Development and Educational Outreach.
It's a familiar area for Cronkrite, who started working at GVSU in
2012 in the Registrar's Office as a project coordinator and then as
assistant registrar. Since 2019, he has served as the assistant
director for certification and accreditation for the College of
Education and Community Innovation.
"I was excited about the opportunity to get back into Enrollment
Development," Cronkrite said. "I believe in access to
education and I care about the cost of college. In this division, I'll
be able to have impact on those initiatives that directly help students."
His responsibilities as executive associate include aligning the
division's projects and initiatives with outcomes, managing the budget
and setting financial priorities.
Cronkrite was the first in his family to attend college. He earned a
bachelor's degree in psychology from Ferris State University. He was
close to graduating and did not have a clear career path when
Cronkrite said a staff member invited him to apply for an internship
at the university's institutional analysis office.
He later took on a staff role in that office and earned a master of
business administration degree from Ferris.
Cronkrite and his wife have two children. In his free time, he enjoys
coaching their soccer teams and playing disc golf.
