First Wellness Summit offers many opportunities to connect, refresh
The inaugural GVSU Wellness Summit provided an opportunity for faculty, staff and students to prioritize wellness through a variety of activities, presentations and offerings.
The summit offered events highlighting the emotional, spiritual, social and occupational dimensions of wellness.
Lakers ran in a race with GVPD, went on walks in nature to observe birds, unwound with a sound bath, listened to student athletes discuss their wellness approaches and enjoyed smoothies by the Cook Carillon Tower. And those were just a sampling of the opportunities.
"Moments like these remind us that well-being isn't a one-time event. It’s a continuous commitment," said Robert Shorty, vice president for People, Equity, and Culture. "This event wasn't a single wellness drop. It was the kickoff to an intentional, ongoing focus we are building across Laker Nation."
