Ten staff members from the Division of Enrollment Development and Educational Outreach are the first cohort to begin the division's new Leadership Academy.

Vice President B. Donta Truss said the academy is a professional development program for mid-career staff seeking to advance their careers and deepen their understanding of what drives higher education enrollment.

Participants in the comprehensive program who attend all sessions qualify for a certificate. University leaders who are experts in enrollment management, student success, institutional research, and leadership development are leading sessions.

Truss said the academy addresses a national leadership gap in enrollment management at a time when rising tuition costs coupled with a declining college-age population creates pressure on colleges and universities to adapt enrollment strategies.

"Many institutions are struggling to fill leadership positions that are vital for navigating these challenges," Truss said. "This program not only addresses the immediate need for skilled leaders but also empowers participants to lead with data-driven insights, equity and innovation that will ensure the success of their institutions."

The next cohort of the EDEO Leadership Academy will begin in the fall semester.
