As we put the final touches on the semester and the academic year, I want to take a moment to thank you for all you’ve done to make it another amazing year for our students, our campus and our community.

The work that takes place in our classrooms and labs never ceases to amaze and inspire. Going through the recent Student Scholars Showcase and Reach Higher Showcase showed how Lakers are solving problems and building the future through remarkable research and ideation. We hear from our community partners how well-prepared our learners are, thanks to our combination of liberal education and real-world experience, and that is a reflection of the obligation we all feel to serve our students. So, thank you.

This year has been powerful, impactful yet imperfect, as they all are. As we celebrate this week, we are simultaneously enhancing our work, examining our opportunities and ideating for a stronger tomorrow and a university inspired by its opportunities to meet the future.

Thank you for helping us meet our responsibility to our students, to our faculty and staff, and to our community to do the hard work to educate, nurture and prepare our learners for the world that they will inherit and lead. I look forward to what we will achieve together in the years ahead.
