Finance Scholarships

The Finance Department offers several scholarships to finance majors. We are grateful to the individuals, firms and organizations that strongly support our students and programs through these financial aid opportunities. Brief descriptions of the available scholarships are shown below. The deadline to apply for these scholarships annually is March 1.

Finance Scholarships

This scholarship was created to award outstanding Finance majors.

  • Must be at least at a junior status
  • Must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher

Renewal Criteria: Non-renewable

More Information

The purpose of this scholarship would be to assist finance majors with covering the cost of a college education. Finance faculty encourage recipients to take an active role in the Seidman Investment Portfolio Organization (IPO) or other finance related organizations.

  • Recipients for this scholarship must be accepted for or currently enrolled at GVSU
  • Must be juniors or seniors and enrolled full-time as a Seidman College of Business (SCB) finance major
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale
  • Must have completed at least 9 credit hours of finance coursework

If financial need is considered, it shall be demonstrated by the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

More Information

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist deserving finance majors with the costs of completing their degrees in finance at Grand Valley State University (GVSU). To be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Recipients shall have accepted for or currently enrolled at GVSU
  • Must be an undergraduate senior enrolled for 12 credit hours or more in the Finance Department
  • Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale
  • Must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress according to the norms established by the University

Financial need is required, and shall be demonstrated by the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Renewal Criteria: This scholarship may not be renewed.

More Information

This scholarship, initiated by Jack J. Korff, provides awards to GVSU Seidman College of Business students who major in Finance.

  • Candidates for this scholarship must be a junior or senior previously having earned 55 credits
  • Must be accepted and enrolled full-time as a BBA degree-seeking Seidman College of Business student majoring in finance
  • Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and must be making satisfactory academic progress according to the norms established by Seidman College of Business Finance Department
  • Demonstration of financial need as defined by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required

Renewal Criteria: Renewable for a total of four semesters
