Allison Stephens Shook "Ally" is a community-centric fundraiser and nonprofit management professional, currently serving as the Development Director at Hope for Life, a small, international grassroots organization. She has spent the past eight years in fundraising and is committed to disrupting the problematic systems encompassing the institution of philanthropy. Ally is a proud graduate of Grand Valley State University's Frederik Meijer honors College (BSW, '13) and holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan ('14), with an emphasis in community organizing and nonprofit management. Her presentation examines the demographics of international giving across human arrangements when particularly controlled for the concept of race. When not working, Ally loves playing with her dog, Scout, and working on her 20-acre homestead.
