In celebration of Women's History Month, Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and the Division of People, Equity, and Culture have partnered to bring Dr. Janell Hobson to campus on March 19th for a talk titled "We Fem the Past to Fem the Future: From Harriet Tubman to America's Founding Feminists." Janell Hobson, Professor of women's, gender & sexuality studies at the University at Albany, author of three books (Venus in the Dark, Body as Evidence, & When God Lost Her Tongue), and regular writer and guest editor for Ms. Magazine (including the Harriet Tubman Bicentennial Project of 2022), will discuss why women's histories matter now more than ever. Her latest project, America's Founding Feminists - commemorating the nation's 250th anniversary during women's history month - especially highlights how multiracial feminisms serve as the foundation for America's democracy. Please join us for the talk beginning at 1:00 p.m. with refreshments served after in the 2204 Pere Marquette in Kirkhof.
