Join the Groundswell community virtually in January for a professional learning opportunity provided by educators from Northview Field School, a local public school that enriches learning through outdoor student-focused experiences. Classes take place outside throughout the year, and educators are thoroughly trained to ensure safe learning on school grounds and during trips. Their comprehensive safety guide supports staff readiness and builds confidence among families and the district.

Dave Kraff and Carl Baird will lead participants in best practices for teaching outside. As educators, we know it's best to prepare for any circumstance. Learn how to build your own collection of outdoor emergency preparedness resources to ensure safety during outdoor learning experiences. Come learn about helpful strategies to give you, your school, and your students' parents a peace of mind when it comes to adventuring outside!

Groundswell provides immersive professional learning opportunity (PLO) experiences focused on teaching place-based education (PBE) practices. Learn more about the practice of place-based education on the Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative PBE Webpage.

These PLO events are open to any educators interested in learning more about Groundswell, those who are actively working on their student projects already, or those looking to learn more about researching environmental and community issues!
