Robert C. Pew Grand Rapids Campus
Alumni, Community, Faculty, Staff, Students
In September 2007, Lieutenant Jason Redman’s Navy SEAL Assault Team came under fire outside Fallujah, Iraq. Despite being severely wounded, Lieutenant Redman and his team fought to ensure everyone came home alive. While recovering at Bethesda Naval Medical Center, Jason wrote and hung a bright orange sign on his hospital door stressing the importance of fun, optimism, and regrowth, which became a statement and symbol for wounded warriors and people everywhere. This Veterans Day, in honor of all those in uniform, past and present, Grand Valley’s Hauenstein Center, Peter Secchia Military and Veterans Resource Center, and Office of the President are proud to welcome Lieutenant Redman, author of Overcome and The Trident. This keynote will start at 6 pm.
We also invite you to a reception with hors d'oeuvres and drinks prior to the event from 5 - 6 pm in the Meijer Regency Room. This reception is free and open to the public, so please bring a guest with you!
