From Idea to Action: Conversations for Aspiring Entrepreneurs- Salon and Shop Talk
A roundtable for barbers, cosmetologists, and other personal care professionals who are thinking about business ownership and growing a client base. This session is designed for people who may already be doing the work but are starting to think about what it would mean to work for themselves. The conversation will focus on early ideas, common challenges, and questions around pricing, clients, space, and next steps, with time to learn from others navigating similar decisions.

Jak @ Classics
A Detroit native, Jak discovered his passion for barbering at 14, practicing on himself before friends lined up for cuts. By 19, he earned his barber license and opened Classics Barbershop on Detroit’s eastside in 1997. Jak stays busy with ventures in event services/entertainment, real estate, and the food and beverage industry, giving him a well-rounded perspective on business ownership.
