Confident Outdoor Climber Series - Self-Rescue (pulled for lack of time to generate content)

Monday, September 21, 2020
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Allendale Campus
Faculty, Staff, Students

9/21/20 was not intended date - changed to make unavailable while saving content.
Climbing is inherently dangerous.  Eventually, something won't go as expected and your level of preparedness could be the difference between a traumatic ordeal & an epic adventure. This hybrid course further builds on the material from Top Managed Systems to give climbers important tools for dealing with a variety of unintended situations where simply lowering the climber to the ground is not an option.

Participants are expected to have taken our Top Managed Systems workshop or have a solid understanding of its content already.  (Equipment basics, artificial anchors, belaying a second, descending, knots & hitches).  As with Top Managed Systems, we strongly encourage participants bring any applicable personal equipment but will have the necessary equipment available for those that need it.

Format: Hybrid online/ in-person. New 1-day format!

Cost: $30 for GV Students; $40 for Faculty/ Staff
(this workshop is currently unavailable to alumni & general public)
