The Educational Foundations program in the College of Education and Community Innovation will host its annual Film and Speaker Series on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. This year's focus is social media use by children and its impact. We will be joined by a panel of experts to discuss the film and approach to mitigating the negative impacts of social media and the broader digital media environment on young people, birth through young adulthood.

The audience will be encouraged to ask questions of the panelists and engage in a constructive and engaging discussion about this pressing issue. The program will run from 6:00-8:30, followed by a reception in Loosemore Auditorium located on Grand Valley State University’s downtown Pew Campus, 122E DeVos Center, 401 Fulton St. W., Grand Rapids, MI, 49504.
