In a society of 24-hour news cycles and political pundits, weaving through information becomes an increasingly complex task, especially in the wake of COVID-19 and the advent of our digital lives. Our current presidential election cycle has been, in some ways, subverted by the COVID-19 pandemic. As we continue to adjust to our hybrid lives of online and in-person, we become easily siloed in an echo chamber of our own beliefs. What are we to make of our continued political polarization in the digital age? The Hauenstein Center is pleased to partner with Grand Valley’s Department of Political Science to present a panel discussion on the 2020 presidential election. The panel will be chaired by Darren Walhof, and commenters will include Polly Diven, Michelle Miller-Adams, Pat Miles, and Matt McLogan.

We are as eager as all of you are to resume the Hauenstein Center’s thought-provoking in person events. Though in these tumultuous times, in order to comply with the Governor’s executive orders, the CDC recommended guidelines, and Grand Valley’s current policies, our fall lineup will be offered digitally. The very first opportunity we have to go back to in person events, we will do so, so stay tuned!
