Student-Driven PBL Projects on Display

On April 20, more than 12 different teams of 60 Battle Creek Central High School students recently had an opportunity to showcase some incredible projects that they worked on together at the PBL Symposium organized by BCCHS science teachers and GVSU Education professors.  Parents, friends, BCPS and GVSU administrators, and representatives from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation had the opportunity to see presentations about what students learned, along with the fun ways they've been applying it, through Project-Based Learning. Projects ranged from electrical engineering and solutions for hypothermia to a free-range chicken farm, which included freshly hatched eggs from Blissful Acres.  Incorporating PBL experiences into BCPS curricula has been a key focus of our W.K. Kellogg grant partnership and it was exciting to see the projects come to life.  The BCCHS science faculty did an amazing job leading the charge in providing these fun learning opportunities for their students!
