Disability Pride Month is celebrated every July, and recognizes the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) into law. The Americans with Disabilities Act expands the rights of those with disabilities including the addition of aids including elevators and door-push mechanisms that empower those with physical disabilities to move freely, more widespread use of sign-language interpreters, and the development of new technologies that enhance accessibility.

While there has been progress, there is still much work to be done to create and sustain environments that embrace accessibility, inclusion, and belonging.
