The CLAS Voyage

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) is embarking on a new journey: To embed experiential learning into every major, for every student. This new curricular arc, called the CLAS Voyage, will support units as they embed at least two experiential learning opportunities into their majors, including internships, study abroad, scholarly and creative expression, learning communities, and community-based learning. Students will begin their  their learning paths with a first year seminar and culminate with a capstone, the true culmination of all of their work. Students will also engage in an e-Portfolio reflection to capture their curricular and extra-curricular experiences that matter to them.

In doing so, CLAS will increase the number of students who engage in such powerful experiences as community-based learning, by supporting and connecting students and faculty to such experiences. To do this, CLAS has established the CLAS Center for Experiential Learning (CCEL), which will provide administrative and connective backbones for all of this work, including building strong community bonds. The Laker community is invited to   learn more and connect in with this exciting endeavor.
