2019 Civic Showcase

This year's Showcase featured a tremendous variety of exhibitions that illustrate the many areas and ways that GVSU faculty, staff, and students are engaging with our community partners.

In addition to the many exhibits that showcase specific course based and co-curricular activities, there were also displays that showcased some of our campus-wide initiatives, resources, and programming that support or enhance the culture for civic learning and community engagement we enjoy here at GVSU.

Community engagement at GVSU is developed through new and old relationships, mutually beneficial partnerships and synergistic collaborations that are intended to make a positive difference for all stakeholders. As GVSU strives to realize the mission of "Educating students to shape their lives, their professions and their societies," the importance of civic learning and community engagement activities for our students, staff, and faculty continues to grow.

We thank and recognize the Civic Engagement Showcase committee for actively working on and planning this great event: Katelynn Rendi, Ricardo Benavidez, Liz Collver, Michele Coffill, Connie Dang, Yumi Jakobcic, Karen Niemchick, Kris Pachla, Linda Stratton, and Pat Waring.
