Regional Math & Science Center - Advanced Manufacturing Camp

The Regional Math and Science Center (RMSC) is an education outreach center within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at GVSU. By partnering with GVSU faculty and students, the RMSC is able to engage K-12, higher education and community stakeholders to advance STEM in the West Michigan region. As a connector between these groups, we offer a wide variety of programs including the Region 12 Science Olympiad Tournament, sHaPe Camp, Energizing Our World, Advanced Manufacturing Camp, and Camp Invention. RMSC programs provide students with high-impact experiences that explore STEM learning that is relevant and authentic to their lives. We do this by providing business and community connections so that students learn 21st Century skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, digital literacy, collaboration, flexibility, and creativity. These are skills that are essential in preparing students for their future.

As a part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, we are uniquely positioned to do this work. The RMSC collaborates with CLAS academic units to provide expertise, content development, and facilitation of our high-quality programs. For this showcase we will highlight our newest summer camp, Advanced Manufacturing, to feature multiple business and community partners and how students can explore career pathways from middle school to high school to GVSU to the workforce.
