What is your current position and what do you find exciting about it?

I am a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Michigan State University. We are currently gearing up for a Phase 1 clinical trial with a drug formulated in my group. Importantly, we are going to manufacture the drug right here at MSU in our new radiopharmacy/pharmacy. Our group has nearly $7 million in current funding from the NIH and the Helmsley Charitable Trust.

How did your GVSU Chemistry/Biochemistry degree help you prepare for your position?

My undergraduate research with Dr. Blair Miller prepared me for flow analyses and quantitative measurements.
