What is your current position (or area of study) and what do you find exciting about it?

My current position is as a PGY1 pharmacy resident at UCHealth in Denver, CO. What excites me most about this position is the fast-paced environment and the opportunity to gain experience across a variety of clinical settings. I have the opportunity to learn hands-on from experienced clinical pharmacists and interdisciplinary teams, strengthening my clinical decision-making and patient care skills.

How did your GVSU Chemistry/Biochemistry degree help you prepare for your position?

My GVSU Biochemistry degree gave me a great foundation to start my degree in pharmacy, especially providing me with an understanding of disease processes, drug mechanisms, and medication interactions. A strong foundation in chemistry and biochemistry is very beneficial in pharmacy.
