MTH 225 - Discrete Structures: Computer Science

Introduction to the mathematical foundations of computer science. Topics to include: number bases and modular arithmetic; symbolic logic, propositions, and quantification; sets, set operations, and functions; combinatorics and combinatorial proof; recurrence relations and mathematical induction. Offered fall and winter semesters. Prerequisite: CIS 162, and one of the following: MTH 122 or MTH 123 or MTH 124 or MTH 125 or assignment through Grand Valley math placement.
