MTH 225 - Discrete Structures: Computer Science

Introduction to the mathematical foundations of computer science. Topics include number bases and modular arithmetic; symbolic logic, propositions, and quantification; sets, set operations, and functions; combinatorics and combinatorial proof; and recurrence relations and mathematical induction. Offered every semester. Prerequisite: CIS 162 (concurrent enrollment allowed), and one of the following (MTH 122 or MTH 123 or MTH 124 or MTH 125) or assignment through Grand Valley math placement.
