SLP 584 - Augmentative and Alternative Communication

In this course, students will learn about types and use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Evaluation for AAC device selection and the evaluation of communication using AAC will be explored. Students will learn principles of AAC intervention for individuals across the lifespan. Society's perceptions of AAC will be addressed. Offered winter and spring/summer semesters. Prerequisite: Acceptance to the master's program in speech-language pathology.
