PLS 325 - Human Rights and Democracy in Russia and the Post Communist World

A comparative analysis of the intersection of human rights and political regimes in Russia, the former Soviet Union, and post-communist Europe. Emphasis will be placed on the different levels of state repression and protections as well as civil, political, social, and economic rights across the broader postcommunist region. Course offered winter semester. Prerequisite: PLS 103 or junior standing.
