ENG 390 - Topics in Language and Rhetoric

Variable content. Course will focus on a problem (or problems) in the history or structure of English, or on a specific problem in the practice or theory of rhetoric. Among such topics are the following: dialects, Black English, artificial languages (Esperanto-Newspeak), semantics, and language and politics. May be repeated for credit. Prerequisite: WRT 150.
