PHI 311 - Ancient Great Philosophers

A study of one or several ancient great philosophers, such as the pre-Socratics, Plato, Aristotle, and Lucretius. Focus will be on the philosophers' writings, but attention also will be given to context and tradition. Crosslisted with CLA 311. May be repeated for credit if content varies. Prerequisite: prior work in philosophy or permission of instructor.
