The 2023 Nelson Broadcasting Camp welcomes high school students who want to learn more about the exciting world of content creation! This (almost) free camp is all about the world of radio and television broadcasting. Radio broadcasting includes learning professional audio production, how to be an on-air DJ, programming music, podcasting, and more! TV broadcasting covers professional studio production including camera operation, studio lighting, floor directing, how-to-be on-air talent, and much more! This is a "hands-on camp" where students learn by doing!
Tuesday, July 11th, 2023, 8:30 am - 4 pm - Kirkhof Center Studio 94 (Meet in the first-floor lobby, follow signs, check-in at 8:30 am program start at 9 pm).

Cost: This year our camp is sponsored by the Robert Nelson Foundation so $20 covers the cost of camp and includes a free lunch (both days) AND a free camp T-shirt! Non-refundable payment is required to hold your spot.
Because this is a hands-on camp, space is limited, so sign up today! NOTE: This is a day camp, no overnight stay.
About the camp: The 2023 Broadcasting Camp is made possible by a grant from the Robert Nelson Foundation with support from GVSU School of Communications. The camp is led by professors from the Multimedia Journalism program at Grand Valley State University and assisted by local high school teachers, trained students, and volunteers. The Multimedia Journalism major in the GVSU School of Communications is an award-winning program designed to prepare the next generation of storytellers to succeed and lead in a rapidly changing media landscape.
