Join us for the first ever GVSU Freedom of Information Act Festival
(FOIAFest)! This is a LIB 100 approved event focused around access to
information laws and the public's right to know.
We have a great line up of FOIA experts who will be able to speak
on their experience of creating and working with FOIA requests:
--Mike Morisy, Co-Founder of MuckRock
--Anne Jbara, assistant
general counsel and Freedom of Information Act Coordinator at GVSU
--Patrick Beatty, Assistant City Attorney for Grand Rapids
--Nick
Manes of MiBiz.
The event will conclude with a hands-on session where attendees
will learn how to write and file their own FOIA requests. Feel free to
come prepared with a topic of which you're interested in finding out
more! Laptops are encouraged for this portion of the event.
