Lifeline Chat is a service of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, connecting individuals with counselors for emotional support and other services via web chat. All chat centers in the Lifeline network are accredited by CONTACT USA. Lifeline Chat is available 24/7 across the U.S.
If you are a student who is in need of mental health services while attending GVSU, please refer to the resources below:
Offer drop in crisis counseling and emergency services, group counseling, individual counseling, outreach & events, gender affirmation services, alcohol and drug services, and more.
Students are eligible for unlimited free group counseling sessions, and up to 10 free individual sessions per academic year.

PineRest Mental Health Services - Financial Assistance
- PineRest has free mental health services for eligible patients who make less than $33,975 annually. (250% below federal poverty line)
- Apply for financial assistance by calling (616)-455-5019, apply in person at any PineRest location, completing the application online, or emailing a Financial Counselor at [email protected]
