Step One

How does Replenish work?

 

Replenish is a completely free resource available for all students. 

  1. Come to any of the Replenish 3 locations during operating hours
  2. Check-in with a location staff member 
  3. For the first time, you will need to fill out a short intake survey each semester 
  4. Present your ID or provide your ID number 
  5. Grab your reusable bag, or we can provide one 
  6. Fill up your bag with the food you need 
  7. Students are welcome to come back up to two times a month, but emergency accommodations can be made 

Please also refer to our Laker Meal Share Program.

 

*There is no additional documentation or proof necessary. Our main priority is ensuring our students have an on-campus resource to obtain basic necessities. 

**ATTENTION: All inventory available in any of the Replenish three locations varies based on donations and limited availability. The Replenish location in Allendale may shelf stable items, refrigerated and freezer items, clothing, and other essential items. The Steelcase location does not have refrigerated items or produce, or clothing available at this time, they may have have shelf stable, pantry, and personal care items available. The CHS location may have limited quantity of cold/freezer items available, no clothing, they may also, have shelf stable, pantry, and personal care items available.

Food Funding via GVSU Financial Aid 

Students with financial hardships can request aid specific to food purchasing on campus. 

 

Student Employee Meal Benefit 

In addition to hourly wages, Laker Food Co. student employees earn 1 meal for every 4 hours worked. 

 

Michigan Food Assistance (SNAP/Bridges)

SNAP is a federally funded program that provides nutrition benefits to supplement the food budget of those in need. Students who meet eligibility rules might be eligible for SNAP to help buy groceries. You can apply online through the link above or call to apply at

Love Inc., Allendale - Food Pantry (of Lake Michigan Drive)

Provides food and basic personal care items to families and individuals in need in Northeast Ottawa County. Orders must be placed by Tuesdays at 4pm for pickup on Thursdays 1-5pm at our Allendale New to You store.

 

Heart of West Michigan United Way: 2-1-1

Whoever you are, whatever your needs, 2-1-1 makes it easy to find food, shelter, utility assistance, disaster recovery, childcare, transportation, and more.

 

Lifestream Church 

The Life Stream food pantry offers help to those in the Life Stream and greater Allendale area. If you are in need of help with food, contact our Food Pantry Volunteers. Contact: [email protected] or Dawn Zink (616) 777-0365. 

 

Holy Redeemer Catholic Church 

They provide groceries to families of the local community who are in need. Email Barb Grzegorcyzk at [email protected]

 

Mobile Food Pantry Schedule (by county)

This schedule is provided as a courtesy. It is not guaranteed to be error-free and may be updated or changed at any time, please use it at your own risk. 

 

MI Bridge Temporary Food Assistance 

For eligible low-income individuals and families. And a map of West Michigan farmers markets that accept Bridge Cards.

 

The Women, Infants, Children Program (WIC)

Provides free food, nutrition counseling, and health screening services for pregnant women, women who have just had a baby, and children up to age five. You do not need to be receiving government assistance to qualify.

 

Shipt Food Delivery Passes

Shipt is a grocery delivery service that can provide contactless delivery of groceries from the Standale Meijer. They are now offering single delivery passes if students don't want to sign up for their subscription service.
