Autism Education Center

Working alongside educators, families, professionals, and communities to advance initiatives and projects that create meaningful opportunities for autistic and neurodivergent individuals. 

By supporting projects and initiatives that create collaboration and systems-level support, the Autism Education Center (AEC) helps schools, families, and community partners implement effective, evidence-based practices that improve educational experiences and long-term outcomes for autistic and neurodivergent students across Michigan.

Primary Work of the AEC

START Project

The Statewide Autism Resources and Training (START) Project is a state-funded grant project designed to provide training and technical assistance to educators in Michigan who serve autistic and neurodivergent students.

Regional Collaborative Networks (RCN)

The RCN are the infrastructure for collaboration and coordination across school districts and community partners. The RCN uses regional collaboration to develop shared training and resources, as well as systemic planning that results in more effective educational programming for autistic students.
