Wyatt Kaastra is an Assurance Experienced Associate at BDO, and a proud graduate of Grand Valley where he earned both his undergraduate and Master of Science in Accounting degrees, completing his master’s in December 2024. Wyatt interned for two busy seasons at BDO and recently began his full-time career in public accounting, with just under a year of experience so far.

Outside of work, Wyatt is a big fan of college football, the NFL, and movies of all kinds. He also has a special love for Panda Express—especially from Kirkhof!

Feel free to ask Wyatt any questions about BDO, GVSU, or accounting!

Sarah is an Audit Senior Associate out of PwC's Grand Rapids office & a GVSU Alumna! She's thrilled to come back and chat with current Lakers.

Chase Kluesner, Assurance Associate, performs audit preparation work and hands-on testing across key financial areas, including revenue, expenses, accounts receivable, and cash. His role involves tracing transactions from the general ledger to supporting documentation, like invoices, bank statements, and reconciliations, to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Inspired by a standout high school teacher, Chase entered Grand Valley State University’s accounting program ahead of the curve and connected with EHTC via a faculty advisor. He began interning with the Assurance team in January 2023 and was invited to continue part-time throughout undergraduate and graduate school, seamlessly transitioning to full-time in September 2025 after receiving his Master of Science in Accounting.

Chase’s experience and reliability have earned him more complex assignments and client-facing responsibilities over the years. Now preparing for the CPA exams, he’s confident in his ability to balance studying with work, thanks to years of practice in managing both.

A tinkerer and gaming PC builder, Chase believes the best way to learn is by “pushing buttons.” When he’s not soldering custom keyboards, you’ll find him spending quality time with his lifelong friends or exploring new cocktail bars around Grand Rapids. He makes a point to meet people from all walks of life and is well known for striking up a conversation.
