Ephemerality

Statement
The Department of Visual and Media Arts is proud to present this exhibition of the 2021 graduates of the Photography Program.
Ephemerality is the concept of things being transitory, existing only briefly. As the world is in flux due to the global pandemic, we began to realize how temporary elements of our lives are. Sometimes we can celebrate these impermanences, other times we mourn them.
In this exhibition, the artists explore the concept of ephemerality by defining light, the relationship between mother nature and the human body, the missing comfort in ambient sounds, psychological exoskeletons, the relationship between identity and religion and social issues.
With this in mind, the artists of ephemerality invite you to enter into their exhibition to experience things that are here only for a moment. Take a deep breath, slow down, and allow yourself to absorb that which will not last.
Participating photographers in Ephemerality include:
- Sarah Anderson
- Sheila Babbitt
- Margaret Farmer
- Sydney Kruise
- Meranda Kwitkowski
- Evan Lindhout
- Dylan Nelson
- Jillian Neumann
- Jolene Weier
