Current Peer Educators
Our Peer Educators Aim To:
- Promote awareness and empower students to make safe, smart, and responsible choices regarding substance use
- Introduce and connect students to Alcohol & Other Drugs Service
- Provide education about alcohol and other drugs and how substance use impacts well-being
- Serve as student leaders on campus
Kirsten Phelps
Kirsten is a senior at GVSU majoring in Social Work and minoring in Psychology. She plans to become an LMSW and work with individuals experiencing substance use disorders. She is also interested in the correctional side of social work. This is Kirsten's second year as a Peer Educator and she's super excited to continue to provide education about Alcohol and Other Drugs to students at GVSU. In her free time, she loves to go shopping, travel with friends and family, and hang out with her pets!
Regina Lavalle
Regina is a junior at GVSU studying Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience. In the future, she hopes to get her MSW and become a psychiatric social worker. This is Regina's third year as a Peer Educator and she's really excited to be a part of Alcohol & Other Drugs Services programming and support again! In her free time, Regina also enjoys reading, baking, and hanging out with friends!
Lillian Odden
Lillian is a junior at GVSU studying Biomedical Sciences with an emphasis on Pre-medicine. This is her second year as a Peer Educator and she is excited to be apart of the Alcohol and Other Services team again! She looks forward to educating students across campus about safe substance use practices. In her free time, Lillian enjoys going to the gym, listening to music, and hanging out with friends!
