Featured Guest Speaker: Drew Veach, BizStream
We are excited to welcome Drew Veach from BizStream, an industry leader experienced in fostering successful AI communities. Drew will discuss AI Skills Development and Business Community Collaboration, focusing on how GVSU can align its efforts with regional needs.
Spotlight on Sustainability
Recognizing that the environmental footprint of AI is a primary concern for our "Laker" community, Drew will also share specific data regarding the impact of AI data centers. He will lead a deep-dive into the energy and water consumption required to fuel these models—a topic often called the "elephant in the room"—and discuss industry initiatives aimed at carbon-neutral goals and sustainable infrastructure.
Agenda Highlights:
- Collective Foundations: Introduction to GVSU's ethical AI strategy.
- Industry Insight: Drew Veach on regional AI growth and workforce readiness.
- Environmental Accountability: A data-driven look at AI's impact on our natural resources.
- Live Demo: Practical tools for information verification and proper citation.
- Open Forum: Shaping GVSU’s core values for responsible adoption.
We look forward to seeing you there as we work together to ensure that at GVSU, human insight and ethical stewardship always remain at the center of innovation.
