AJ Smith

AJ spent the 2013 field season in Alaska, primarily working at the research site in Atqasuk. For his independent research project he examined the distribution of thaw depth across the ARCSS grid using GIS.

AJ graduated from GVSU in 2014. He earned his degree in Natural Resources Management with an emphasis in Resource Analysis Methods and a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). AJ is interested in using GIS to conduct research and solve spatial questions in fields related to natural resources. AJ went on to become a Research Assistant at Pierce Cedar Creek Institute where he assisted undergraduate students with their projects.
