Events

The Outreach Education Program at AWRI provides programs, tours, workshops, and special events for a variety of audiences.  Visit the AWRI Facebook page for up-to-date information about events. 

	Classroom Opportunities - Hands-on science at the Lake Michigan Center in Muskegon is available with free programs. Location: Annis Educational Foundation Classroom at the Lake Michigan Center.
	GLOBE Workshops - Introductory and specific protocol workshops Location: Lake Michigan Center and GVSU in Allendale E-mail vailj@gvsu.edu for current information.
	Project WET Training - Educator and facilitator training Location: throughout Michigan. Workshop times will be posted on the Michigan Project WET Facebook page. E-mail vailj@gvsu.edu for current information.
	Making Lake Michigan Great The W.G. Jackson makes its way around Lake Michigan on the Making Lake Michigan Great Tour to various ports of call in the summer. As a project of  the U.S. EPA's Lake Michigan Forum, the purpose of these annual tours is to spread the word about the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Lakewide Management Plan for Lake Michigan. Funded by the U.S. EPA Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, the tours provide hands-on experience in water issues for the public aboard the W.G. Jackson and the D.J. Angus. There are cruises for students and the public, open houses, teacher workshops, and community events.  The Tour has reached 33 ports of call in Lake Michigan since 1998.
