AWRI Responsibilities:

  • Leads AWRI’s environmental education and outreach programs
  • Oversees education and outreach programs onboard AWRI’s vessels, the W. G. Jackson and the D. J. Angus
  • Coordinates and teaches K-12 classroom education programs
  • Designs, organizes, and delivers teacher professional development workshops
  • Collaborates with AWRI scientists on multidisciplinary projects and integrates educational expertise with the broader impacts of their research
  • Maintains the AWRI presence in the network of professional business and educational organizations regarding environmental issues, including collaboration and cooperation with these contacts
