Deleting Unwanted (SPAM) E-mail

To delete mail items from an unwanted source in GroupWise:

Please try to unsubscribe your E-mail address from the unwanted source (directions on how to remove your name are often included in the e-mail you received). However, if this does not work, please follow the instructions below to create a rule, which will automatically delete any e-mails from that source:

  1. In the upper tool bar click "Tools", then click "Rules"
  2. In the Rules dialog box click "New"
  3. Enter Rule Name. For example: Delete Junk Mail
  4. Under the "When event is" section click the box next to "Received"
  5. Under the "Item types" section click "Mail"
  6. Click the "Define Conditions" button
    1. Under the "Include entries where . . ." section click "All Fields",
    2. then double click "From"
    3. Press the <TAB> key twice
    4. Type the e-mail address from the sender that you don't want to receive e-mail from. Note that the address must be entered exactly as you see it in your inbox.
    5. Click "OK"
  7. Under the "Then actions are . . ." section click the "Add Action" button
  8. Click on "Delete/Decline"
  9. Click on "Ok" in the "Decline with options" box.
  10. Click Save
  11. Click Close

This will move all mail from the e-mail address that you specified into your trash folder.
