What is Verification?

Verification is a process required by the federal government that is intended to confirm that the data reported on your FAFSA is accurate.  We highly recommend using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on your 2018-19 FAFSA, to decrease your chances of being selected for verification, and to reduce the documentation that is required to be submitted to our office.

How Will I Know if I Have Been Selected for Verification?

You will be notified during the aid application filing process if you have been selected for federal verification via your Student Aid Report. We will also notify you by placing requirements on your myBanner account.  You will receive an e-mail notification when outstanding requirements are added to your myBanner account.  You can check requirements by following the instructions listed here.
