Complete Entrance Loan Counseling

If you have accepted a federal direct loan for the first time you will need to complete loan counseling.  Loan counseling makes you aware of your rights and responsibilities as a borrower. 

1.)  Go to the Entrance Loan Counseling website.

2.)  Select "Go" in the box that says Entrance Counseling.  For students with Direct Stafford
       Loans, click "Tutorial and Quiz (New Session)" in the Stafford Loan box.

3.)  Once you have finished reading the tutorial be sure to take the quiz.  After you have 
       successfully passed the quiz (12 of the 15) there are 4 additional steps.

4.)  You can identify yourself with your FAFSA PIN or by entering your name, social
       security number and date of birth.

5.)  Once you have identified yourself, confirm your information and continue on.

6.)  You must enter a school.  For GVSU, type only "grand valley" all in lowercase letters. 
       After it's selected hit "Proceed."

7.)  Be sure to print a copy of your results for your records.
