An essay by AWRI's Biddanda and Woznicki labs appeared in the Summer 2022 Lakes Letter published by the International Association for Great Lakes Research. It details the economic, social, and ecological importance of Great Lakes drowned rivermouth estuaries. Not only do these ecosystems detail a history of the region, but they also provide and early warning signal of ongoing and future changes.
